About
On Saturday, September 19th, BGSU Campus Sustainability and the First Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green are co-hosting a drive-thru electronics recycling drive to provide the community with an environmentally friendly alternative for old, broken, outdated, or unwanted electronics. Volunteers will help empty vehicles, keep collection boxes organized, talk with customers, and direct traffic. Volunteers are not permitted to take apart computers or take home any data-bearing devices for security purposes. Do not sign up for this event if you are tempted to disobey this strict rule. Occasionally, someone brings something to recycle that a volunteer may want to keep. This is permissible if you check with Zach first to ensure it's a non data bearing device; limit one item per person. Electronic items are frequently saved or refurbished by our recycler, AIM, so be rest assured that all of the electronics brought to our event will be handled responsibly.
There are two shifts: 8:30am to 11am, 11am to 1:30pm. The event itself is from 9am-1pm. We will train you and you'll get to wear a very cool high visibility vest! Report to the Wood County Committee on Aging at 140 S Grove St, Bowling Green, OH 43402 - you can park there too you'd like. Dress for the weather! This is an outdoor, "drive-in" event where people bring their electronics to us, and we will empty their vehicle trunks and truck beds and place the electronics into our collection boxes which will be lined up in the parking lot of the Wood County Committee on Aging, just west of downtown BG. We'll update registrants with any pertinent information regarding the event.
